Sadly, this past friday was my birthday (Izzy thinks all birthdays are her's).
Why do I start the sentence with sadly you ask...well because it marked the start of my last year in my thirties. I know that for most people this is no big deal, but for me it was a hard. I have no desire to be 40!! I just don't like the sound of it....I like 30 something much better. So to make my self feel better, I took a birthday trip to the Purl warehouse here in Socal and bought myself these little pretties..

Liberty of London can chase away the worst of moods! That and my awesome husband taking me away for the weekend (without the children) made the fact that I was 39 feel much better. Although, I have warned everyone that next year we are skipping the day!! I don't wanna.....
I was able to sew up a few new ipad covers yesterday...
One or my sister, made with Heather Ross's Far Far Away 2 and lined with some Liberty to keep her screen nice and safe from scratches.
And a new one for me, made with some cool Echino.
The two together really represent the two of us really well....
I forgot to get pictures of the backs, but I incorporated the same zipper pocket on the back, like the one I made months ago.
I also knitted Izzy a new pair of socks last week. It was my first time knitting child size socks and I love it. They are a breeze to get through, since they are so small.
She loves them and wears them all the time, totally worth making!!
Where is the Purl warehouse? I live in socal, too!
ReplyDeleteooooooh, liberty. pretty.
ReplyDeleteand your covers are slick!
Well happy birthday anyways!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday...
ReplyDeleteand 40 is the new 30, haven't you heard? ;)
First of all, you look nowhere near 39...seriously. Secondly, as someone who is well into her 40s and denying the all too rapidly approaching 50, a word of advice...EMBRACE 39...i spent all year denying the impending and felt 40 before i really was - or at least spent the year being reminded of it. instead, celebrate being in your 30s and enjoy every day of it. xx
ReplyDeleteHappy B'day and don't worry, 40 IS the new 30! Love your iPad covers...did you design them yourself or is it from a tute you can share? I need to whip one up for my sister in law for Christmas.
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday! And hey -- turning 40 is better than the alternative, right?
ReplyDeleteI agree with Blueberry... you're gorgeous.
Great projects, and I'm swooning over your fabric.
happy birthday!!! I turned 40 last month and completely ignored it so it never happened and I'm still in my 30's.
ReplyDeleteHappy birthday! Birthdays are FINE...don't be scared! Get presents, eat cake...it's all good! As for the looming 4-0...this is the era where we get to do a bit more for ourselves (I am hoping)- kids a bit bigger, some more time for ourselves (??)...age is just an attitude, so put on some hot mama boots and kick in in the a%&!!
ReplyDeleteHow about thirty ten, thirty eleven....you can be 30 something forever!
ReplyDeleteLove your ipad covers! Happy birthday.
Happy birthday! It sounds like it turned out to be a great day. :)
ReplyDeleteIs there a tutorial you have for the cover? I would love to make a few of these for gifts for Christmas. Nice work!
